Fine Craft Show May 4-6th Lyndhurst Castle

The Artrider Fine Craft show is back here again in beautiful  Tarrytown , NY on the magnificent grounds of Lyndhurst Estate.

Finestra Designs is pleased to be part of this creative and exciting show, we can be found in our usual spot R 04  near the front ticket booth entrance.

Jeannette has been hard at work designing and making some new pieces for the collection.
We are almost ready with the new website Finestradesigns.com , in which we will integrate a limited selection of pieces for online purchase, as well as links to our various social media connections.

Spring, hope is eternal, or something like that.

Spring is around the corner.

Hope you all have survived this winter so far.  And really, can we complain all that much?
The weather is always changing, and we look forward to the changes the Spring will bring.
Changes are coming
Which brings me to the topic of "Change", we (Finestra Designs) are trying to bring about some change in the way we show and sell our work.
Over the last year or so, more people have been asking if they could purchase our work online. Unfortunately, as many of you are aware,  we had a  beautiful and informative web site, but it was not designed to accept online purchases.
New Designs
Well, this year we have made the commitment to do something about it, we are having the changes made to overhaul the site, and have it up and running in the next month or two. 
As for the jewelry, we have been busy working on a group of new designs, and can hardly wait to reveal them.
We will continue to do some of the same Fine Craft shows as in previous years, although, we will be scaling back how many.
Thank you for your interest and hope you continue to follow Finestra Designs on our journey together.

Last Show for 2011, Morristown Armory - December 2nd - 4th

Yes, another year has flown by, and as happy as we are to soon see 2011 behind us, we are delighted to be finishing up on a positive note. Find us participating this weekend at the Artrider Holiday Crafts  Morristown, NJ.    

You will find that the fine works available at this show are always of high quality in design and craftsmanship.
Come out and support the love and creativity put into all the work.

This is our last public show for 2011.

Things have dried out and the weather looks great for Lyndhurst

We are excited to be showing Finestra Designs in Tarrytown, NY, this weekend Sept. 16th -18th , as part of the Artrider Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst. Its always a high quality show with lots of great crafts.
All on the beautiful historic grounds of Lyndhurst Castle.
Our booth is near the front entrance section of the show.

Finestra Designs will not be able to be at Harrisburg-Kipona show this weekend

We sadly have to report that we will not be able to participate in the Kipona Artfest Show this Labor day weekend in Harrisburg, PA.

Due to complications from the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, we have to stay close to home to tend to problems caused by power outage and flooding.

Fortunately, other than some short power outage, the jewelry studio was not effected.
The week long mess and distractions have left us little time to focus on getting ready for this show.

However, our clean-up continues and things are almost back to normal.

We will be continuing with our show schedule next weekend in Chester, NJ.
And the following weekend at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, NY

Our next show in PA will be in Blue Bell,  Oct. 15th & 16th

Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show

This weekend August 20 & 21, 2011
Finestra Designs is happy to be invited to participate in the 37th Annual Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show.

Always a fun show to be part of, and we hope you can attend.

We will be located near the front on Chautauqua Ave. , close to the Food Court, which I should note is definitely the best "show food" in its selection and quality of any of the shows we do through out the year.

This weekend Finestra Designs is happy to be part of the Spring Art & Craft Show at Brookdale Park in the Montclair/ Bloomfield area of NJ.
We have some new things to show as well as our classic collection featuring our Architecturally inspired designs.

Morristown Armory Dec. 3rd, 4th & 5th

Finestra Designs' final show for 2010.
We will be participating in the Artrider Holiday Crafts at the Morristown Armory in Morristown , NJ. The show opens Friday at 5pm to 8pm, continuing Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
Always a nice show in a comfortable indoor setting and plenty of on-site parking.

Spring Show Season 2010

Time really flies.
Missed a whole year of blog updates.
Well on to new and better things.
We started the Spring Show Season in Somerset, NJ, this past rainy weekend.
Thank you to all those intrepid craft show fans for coming out in the nasty weather.
This weekend March 19th - 21st, we will be showing and hopefully selling our work at the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival in Oaks, PA at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. They were very kind in featuring our Cage Ring Design on the show web page.

May 1- 3, Lyndhurst Castle, Tarrytown, NY

With this unusually warm late April heat wave it is hard to believe what a long cold winter we had, but it is already time for the Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst show and we couldn't be more ready for both the show and the warmer temperatures.
As usual we are looking forward to an exciting and busy weekend.
Lyndhurst is always a well attended show, rain or shine. We always prefer drier weather, but it is always best to be prepared.(it can also be a bit chilly at times)

We are very pleased to be invited back again to Artrider's Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst, the customers are truly enthusiastic and appreciative of our work, we thank you for your support.
We will be showing some new designs as well as some of the old favorites, we hope to see some familiar faces, perhaps you can bring a friend.

Finestra's Final Show for 2008

We will be participating this weekend at the Artrider Crafts Show in Morristown, NJ at the National Guard Armory.
Applications are going out for next year's shows, stay tuned for the Spring schedule listed here and Finestradesign.com late in February 2009.
Limited ( and I do stress, limited) Online shopping will be ready after this next show.
For those interested in taking a jewelry making class, Jeannette teaches classes at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, and starting in 2009 a workshop at the Baum School of Art, and classes at the Banana Factory , both located in the Lehigh Valley, PA.

Its been a hectic number of weeks since our last blog post.
Sorry for the lack of content.
Taking care of our 2 year old has had a dramatic effect on our time outside of making jewelry and doing shows.
Daycare has brought a new reality to "I think I'm getting sick", seems just about every week its some new virus or ailment.
As of this writing we are all feeling fairly healthy.

Our friend and fellow artist Bill Skrips is having a show and sale of his work this weekend at his Studio,
if you have a chance I encourage you to try to make this rare event.

Too many shows too little time!

Do to a scheduling conflict this weekend, October 18th & 19th, we are unable to participate in the Rose Squared Inc., Brookdale Park Show in Montclair, NJ.
However, we are showing our work at the Kiwanis Craftmarket show at the National Guard Armory in Morristown ,NJ.
It's unfortunate that they fall on the same weekend, for many years we have been able to participate in both shows, usually back to back, but for what ever reason this calendar year they have fallen on the same weekend.

We truly enjoy doing both shows and it was a really difficult decision on which show to choose. In the end it came down to indoor show vs. outdoor and the unpredictable weather.

We hope this hasn't inconvenienced those who might have been looking forward to seeing us at Brookdale Park.

Labor Day Already?

This unofficial end of Summer weekend, Finestra Designs will be showing our work at the Kipona Artfest in Harrisburg, PA. Interesting architecture all around and a really fun outdoor show right along the river, just a few blocks from the State Capital.
We will be in booth # 138. Looking forward to seeing some of our loyal customers from the Harrisburg and surrounding areas.
Show runs 3 days Sat. 10am -7pm, Sun. 12pm -7 pm & Mon. 10am - 5pm
